On January 21, 1974 the Dawn Busters of Metairie Kiwanis Club was officially charted with 20 members being inducted into the club. In 1988 women were invited to join Kiwanis. Now more than 30% of our members are women. Through the years the Dawn Busters Kiwanis Club has worked many projects in our community. As our membership has grown so has the number of projects we do. We are especially proud of our award winning Rewards for Reading Program we do in 56 local schools!
The Dawn Busters Kiwanis Club participates in a variety of projects throughout the year that involve fundraising, community service, and assisting children locally and worldwide. We engage in a number of social activities to share experiences, talents and our collective interests. All represent great opportunities for service, friendships and personal growth.
